These programs emphasize full-time research and advanced coursework, requiring a master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60%, and qualifying in exams like GATE, UGC-NET, or CSIR-NET. Annual fees for PhD are about ₹30,000. The admission process typically includes an entrance test and interview.

Diploma and Short-Term Courses

Though NIT Raipur does not currently offer a standalone diploma program, short-term certificate and skill development courses are occasionally organized under various departments, mainly for industry professionals and teachers. These are always delivered in-person at the institute.
