Motilal Nehru College is a well‑known private college under the University of Delhi, located at Benito Juarez Marg, New Delhi. It began in 1964 and got its current name in 1977, after Pt. Motilal Nehru. It is affiliated to Delhi University and recognized by the UGC, and has NAAC accreditation. The motto of the college is “Bhudhirjnanen Shudhyati”, meaning knowledge purifies the mind.
The college aims to help students become wise, responsible, and capable leaders. It offers courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Media. It has modern spaces like classrooms, seminars, a bioscope hall, computer labs, and a large library. The college is also friendly to specially‑abled students and is the first DU college with Braille books and accessible infrastructure.
The campus is green and beautiful, backed by the Aravali hills. It promotes energy and resource saving practices like rainwater harvesting and composite pits. Motilal Nehru College also offers student support through its AMAN movement to prevent ragging, a strong alumni network, and several cultural and academic clubs.
With over 3,000 students, including many from outside Delhi, the college focuses on overall development by balancing academics, culture, and social awareness.
