Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS Karad) is a well‑established deemed university located in Karad, Western Maharashtra, surrounded by beautiful hills. The institute began in 1984 and now shares the name Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth. KIMS has grown into a major centre for medical and allied education. It is NAAC 'A+' accredited, holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (earlier MCI), Medical Councils of Malaysia and Sri Lanka, and is listed in WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools

The institute offers education in many fields: MBBS, MD/MS, MDS, dental science, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, biotechnology, and allied courses. Its mission is to nurture skilled, ethical, and compassionate healthcare professionals, blending theory with practical training in its 1125‑bed multispecialty teaching hospital 

In the NIRF 2023 rankings, KIMS Karad appeared in the 151–200 band overall, though it had previously been placed 42nd in medical category in 2022 NIRF 2022 ranked it 73rd among Indian universities .
