Amity University in Ranchi is a private college that started in the year 2016. It is a part of the well-known Amity Education Group and is officially approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers different types of courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Many students choose to study engineering and management here, as these are some of the most popular subjects. Amity has earned a strong reputation across India, and it was even ranked 37th in the country in a national list of top colleges.

To join the MBA program at Amity Ranchi, students need to give exams like CAT, MAT, or GMAT. These test scores are important for getting selected. For engineering (B.Tech) courses, scores from JEE or JEE Main are needed. Students who score well—like 75 percentile in CAT or 500 marks in MAT or GMAT—can also apply for scholarships that help reduce fees.

For those applying through MAT in 2023, the last dates to register were different depending on the test format. For the computer-based test (CBT), the last date was September 12. For the paper-based test (PBT), it was August 29, and for the internet-based test (IBT), it was September 13. Students had to visit the official MAT website to register and upload their scorecards.

After applying, students may be asked to take a short English test. They might also take part in a group discussion, speak briefly on a topic (called extempore), or attend a personal interview. The university only admits students who meet its specific course requirements.
